MoneyWalk 16 Utilizing Other People’s Skills

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Have you ever needed carpentry work, but no ability to do it yourself at a level that would be aesthetically pleasing? Have you purchased something only to find out later you paid far more than you had to? Have you needed to set up proper business and personal income recordkeeping and prepare tax returns and realized that much of what you need is beyond your expertise and ability to give much time to figuring out how to be an expert in the accounting field?

Most people experience these types of situations. You do not have to feel as though there is no hope for getting what you need and experiencing the beauty of a great result. Such situations can be remedied by knowing your limitations and finding people who have skills you need to get the job done effectively, efficiently, and sometimes less costly than if you tried to do it. We have sometimes found it beneficial to utilize other people’s skill and give them a chance to hone their skills and earn income even though we could have completed work we needed done. In many instances we paid them more than we could have saved doing it ourselves.

Never become a lazy freeloader or feel as though you are entitled to use other people’s time, expertise, or money at no cost to you. Entitlement is a mental affliction based on pride, arrogance, and covetousness that makes you obnoxious to others. You must do the daily things you need to do to survive, live comfortably, and make a positive impact on others in this world. Slothfulness – the unwillingness to do things you can do within normal daily living parameters and the gifts, calling, and skills the LORD has helped you attain - will make you unable to build the life and financial empire He desires for you.

Now that you’ve decided laziness is off limits, understand that failing to recognize where your skill ends will also cost you a great deal more than it will if you recognize He designed life so other people’s skills can help you and yours help them. There are certain things you know you cannot do effectively (decorating, plumbing, accounting, etc.). Search for someone with requisite expertise who will do a good job and, if necessary, allow you to pay less than normal until you're financially able to pay full price. It is a good practice to get at least three estimates and check each person’s work for former clients to make sure the person you select has a good work history and product. Also, never fail to pay what is due those who help you when it is in the power of your hands to do so. You will experience immense blessing and reward relationally and financially when you engage the practice of using other people’s skills.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!

MoneyWalk 15 Benefits of Bargaining

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Your ability to save and invest will grow by successfully bargain shopping for lower prices for items you purchase (houses, cars, furniture, jewelry, household utilities, clothing, beauty products, etc.). This consists of finding legal and ethical ways for getting them for a price well below what most people usually pay. You should not be a respecter of persons with the mindset, "give me Gucci or give me death." Also, you must exhibit patience in the process and recognize, when you do not purchase desired items right away, that similar merchandise and great deals will still be available well into the future.

Your mind must be renewed in Christ to realize there are safe, reliable, and valuable items sold in places other than higher cost neighborhoods, stores, designer labels, and name brand sections you’ve selected in the past. For example, household cleanser at dollar stores may be as good as higher cost cleanser purchased at well-known stores and blue jeans can be the same quality no matter which store you purchase them in. that are safe, reliable, and valuable that can meet your need.

Don't waste money for brand name loyalty when you're in a tight squeeze and do not absolutely believe higher prices equates to better quality, service, or reliability. Though there can be differences in quality and service, in many instances the same materials, workmanship, and reliability can be found in similar merchandise with different labels. In order to receive the wealth-building benefit the LORD desires, you must be willing to make some purchases at lower cost stores in which you did not previously shop to see if they have what you need. This will allow you to have greater cash flow for growth investing.

We engage the bargain shopping by doing what is stated above and by:

6. Continually asking the Lord for His blessing in this area.

7. Knowing He desires to bless His people above what our individual incomes can afford.

8. Trusting we don’t necessarily need to always have money on hand to cover all our needs and desires.

9. Becoming knowledgeable about store inventory and clearance practices.

10. Asking for discounts even when price tags don’t show they are available.

The money you keep in your treasury as a result of bargain shopping will make you wealthy over time when you consistently save and invest it over a 10-year or greater time horizon. My wife window shops about twice per week. This allows her to know the original price on items and the discounted price as time moves forward during retailers’ inventory processes. In one instance, for $27 she purchased a pair of curtains with an original price of $90. Two weeks later she was able to get a refund on the curtains because she purchased identical curtains at another store for $1.68. This has been replicated in our lives many times over and has never caused us to live beneath the privilege the LORD desires for us. You too can receive great financial benefits by engaging bargain shopping.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!

MoneyWalk 14 Give And It Shall Be Given Unto You!

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

You might think you must now hold on tightly to your money and possessions because times have gotten very tough financially. However, God's financial plan works much different than what your human mind can comprehend. You must accept revelation from the Holy Spirit in order to understand that opening your hands to give to others does not cause a transfer of money that hurts your financial position. Rather, a continual heart of responsible giving from a proportionate share of all income the LORD provides you actually opens up the windows of Heaven to pour out continual blessings and rewards upon you, including financial.

Years ago, I put myself under a tremendous burden of debt by taking out many loans I did not need (student, cars, furniture, etc.) and continuing in that activity for over a decade. I should have saved money and bought things I really needed with cash and did without other things (many of which I cannot even remember) until I was in a position to purchase them debt-free. However, I thought I was very wise by managing my life the same way as many others around me. Thank God I noticed the devastation this was causing in my life. My finances were in shambles and I desperately needed help. I was looking for a way out of bondage and tried to follow most everything to get me out except biblical principles. None of it worked. They gave me false hope and encumbered me with more debt still buying experiences and things I really didn’t need at the time trying to live like people said I deserved while posturing myself to fake it til I make it.

Upon accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and LORD in 1992, I started praying, studying the bible, and attending a local Church to find out the way He instructs people to live to become more like Him. The Holy Spirit spoke to me directly and thru a few sermons about giving to spread the gospel and draw people to Christ as one of the major actions He guides people to engage to show His love and how this also helps them get out of debt because they then open their hands to receive and manage income and assets well in order to get the most out of them for the glory of God.

Prior to salvation, I would have thought it was outrageous to believe giving would help me get out of debt. Yet when I searched the scriptures for answers to relieve my bondage, I was led to passages confirming actions leading to fruitfulness and true success that confound worldly beliefs, which are in essence foolishness leading to greater troubles. So, I began tithing and offering believing God would deliver on His promise to meet all my need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. It absolutely works. We have been giving 11%, 20%, and then upwards of 30% of our gross monthly income since being born again. This along with other principles like controlling our appetite for material things, planning / budgeting, making extra principle payments and other arrangements to eliminate debt, and refusing to cosign other people’s debts have put us in a debt-free possession since 1998 and made us multi-millionaires about a decade and a half later.

When you show yourself and others you are committed to resolving problems using His principles, you'll begin to see increases in your income and net worth through better money management, promotions, gifts from well-wishers, deals at stores, inheritances, and other supernatural provision. It is absolutely true that He is the one who already allows you to get all the money you will ever have. And it is equally true that He will give back to you a far greater measure than what you give, when you give a reasonable proportion of it to gospel ministry for His glory to be displayed in the earth and to help other people.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!

MoneyWalk 13 Stop Unnecessary Cosigning

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

You've cosigned on a debt for someone by using your credit card(s) or by signing a note that says you will pay the loan amount if he / she is unable to. It didn’t seem to matter to you that he/she wanted the material thing for a desire and not a need. Also, you never considered that the LORD warns us not to cosign (become surety) for other people’s debts. Further, it didn’t appear to matter that he/she did not save a reasonable amount of money along the way for emergencies and situations he/she knows will occur from time to time.

Continuing to have these types of response to a person's request for you to cover their debt will continue to place you in tight financial situations and will cause you to be irresponsible in taking care of your family and God's business. Your money will soon be gone, no matter how much you have or make. You must watch and pray and observe those that labor among you. Remember, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. In so doing, we have created bad habits in many areas of our lives, finances included. We need to be directed to walk the right pathway for handling our lives and finances so mistakes are not repeated and we do not live in continual financial bondage and beneath the privilege the LORD prepared for us.

The best way to help most people and yourself financially is to give them available cash if a true need arises. Definitely, discontinue cosigning and do not loan money to irresponsible people. Now, pray for and encourage them to use biblical principles to manage money and desires, so their true needs can be met. This includes practices like tithing, free-will offering, planning/budgeting income and expenses, building/maintaining a reasonable emergency fund, paying off all loans in order to live debt-free, refusing to cosign, saving, investing, and diversifying investments. In this way, you will not help push them and yourself into greater financial bondage and the pain it produces. Instead you will be leading them down the path of abundant life the LORD prepared for each one of us.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!

MoneyWalk 12 Stop Unnecessary Borrowing

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

People and advertising constantly lead you to immediately pursue a lifestyle above what your income can currently provide. They entice you to spend everything you receive and to borrow even more money as the way to have it all. The problem is you have not been told about the grief that accompanies indebted-ness and the financial situations that often result from it like inability to pay all your bills, repossession, foreclosure, and bankruptcy. On top of that creditors continue to contact you and press you to get the money you owe them. The stress of these situations often negatively affect your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.

Those in debt generally feel like they work to support their creditors! They see creditors building great wealth for their businesses and personal lives. The purchase of many material things over the years is not leading to the indebted person’s wealth accumulation because the value of those items depreciated rapidly, far below the purchase price, after they were bought. Many have absolutely no value.

Debt is insidious because the seemingly small monthly payments leads people to get even more debt, which eventually ac-cumulates to monthly payments and other bills close to or higher than their take home pay. They experience a cash flow shortage in their personal and/or business finances. While it leads them down this path their credit history gets much worse and they are charged higher interest rates which give creditors more of their money on top of principal payments. We have been consciously and subconsciously bombarded with messages and trained to follow this pathway such that we have now incorporated it in most every area of our life, such as buying cars, recreational vehicles, furniture, jewelry, clothing, mortgages, education (school loans), etc.

How many lenders or financial counselors told you the bible says, "The borrower is a slave to the lender" or “a wise man builds wealth but fools spend everything they get. Probably none. If you want misery throughout your life, continue to follow the ways of the world by continuing to borrow more and more and re-fusing to pursue debt freedom. However, you do have another option. You can put on the mind of Christ to engage good money management. By doing so, you heap to yourself the financial benefits you otherwise pay to those you borrow money from.

This process starts by (a) refusing to borrow any more money, (b) seeking additional income you can use to totally eliminate debt over the next year or two, (c) budgeting responsibly, (d) foregoing purchase of all unneeded material things until you are debt-free, and (e) trusting God to provide needs when you don’t have cash to purchase them. Your debt will be eliminated shortly and over time you'll accumulate massive savings and investments and a heart to give abundantly to endeavors that glorify the LORD. For the rest of your life, instead of creditors making lots of money off you, you will make lots of money off the interest and growth you get from your savings and equity investments.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!

MoneyWalk 11 Why Should I Tithe & Give Offerings?

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Failing to give the LORD the portion of your income He commanded traps you in a negative spiritual and/or financial condition. Frustration and heartache replace peace and joy when you do not honor God before you spend the lion’s share on yourself & give little to help other people. You should never want to be in the position of robbing the LORD of the proportion of income He provided you that scripture shows you should give for the betterment of you, your family, and the Church.

Often times people can look to this area of managing finances to identify that they are allowing satan to keep them in financial bondage. Marital arguments over money, wondering why you don't have money to care for things you consider needs, and the inability to save money for future needs and have more than enough for long-term investing to grow wealth are only symptoms / results of financial mismanagement. They are not the source of the problem. Yet, you cannot correct the situation and be led out of financial bondage until you recognize the problem and deal with it by changing your habits to engage good money management principles.

The LORD allows you to have all the income you live on right now and all that you will ever have access to! If you do what He commands He promised that He'll open the windows of Heaven and pour out a blessing on you. It will be so much you will have to share His blessing with many others. In addition, He promised to rebuke the devourer for your sake so such evil spirits do not ruin your life or your finances and thus you can be fruitful in all you put your hand to do.

A tithe is one tenth of your gross income. Offerings are free-will in nature and should be given cheerfully as you purpose in your heart to your local church, other ministries, and the needy. When you give abundantly the LORD will abundantly give to you so at all times in all things you will receive more than enough for every good work He calls you to engage and support. He will bountifully provide for those who faithfully tithe and give offerings to support ministry work.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!

MoneyWalk 10 Your Income Is Enough

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Many people judge their ability to manage their finances by how much money they actually receive from work and other sources in a month. It's easy to convince yourself that government assistance or minimum wage income or the low wage you think you make isn't enough to manage successfully or that your family situation, etc. are too much for your income to adequately cover and provide for abundant giving and future growth. However, it behooves you to have an active plan for managing income you receive no matter how much it is, otherwise financial turmoil overtake you because you fail to call things that be not as though they are and to inherit the promise through faith, obedience, and diligence in following biblical instruction.

No one, rich or poor, is excused from the biblical principle of knowing the state of his/her estate (income, expenses, assets, and liabilities) in order to manage it well and multiply it throughout his/her future. You will be richly rewarded when you prioritize your life to tithe or give in proportion to income with which you are blessed in order to spread the gospel of our LORD Jesus Christ via the Church as well as take care of family needs including saving & investing aligned with ascertaining and estimating future needs and worthwhile desires. This requires that you consistently expend on yourself and family less than your net monthly income.

Never refuse to give abundantly to fund the gospel, for you do not want to find yourself in financial turmoil because of your failure to give and manage money in a God-honoring way that also would have immensely blessed you. The LORD understands that most people, even after giving abundantly and saving & investing reasonably, will spend 50% to 70% of their net income on themselves and their immediate family. He is not upset with you for following such a pattern though as you become more intimate with Him via worship, thanksgiving, praise, and prayer your heart will grow over time to find yourself giving a higher percentage of your income and living off a lower percentage.

I have personally noted situations where the LORD moved a person to give an item to another person which that person could not afford but had need of. This has happened numerous times when no one except God knew the person's need. The LORD is not limited in His supernatural ability to provide your material needs and desires even though in the natural you or others have a perceived lack of income or seemingly hopeless financial situation. To receive the great economic / financial benefits the bible shows are available to each person, all one need do is put his/her hand to the plow to do what scripture instructs: tithe, give offerings, budget, eliminate debt, refuse to cosign, save, invest, and diversify. You will certainly experience abundance when you put faith into action, which is displayed by obedience to His commands and instruction.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!

MoneyWalk 9 Diligence At Work

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

A necessary step to reversing your negative financial condition is to change your attitude about your current job. This applies whether you're self-employed or working for someone else. Begin to thank God for the work that is currently a blessing to you by providing an income you can use to take care of yourself, family, and other responsibilities.

No matter how small your paycheck appears to be, no matter how insignificant your position appears to be, and no matter how bad the atmosphere at work appears to be, you must thank God for His graces currently extended while you look forward to, envision, and set goals to capture future work opportunities along with greater income and employment relationships / situations that allow you to exercise your God-given gifts, skills, abilities, and purpose.

All experiences, whether good or bad, work together for your good because the LORD said so in His word. Your present situation will become a link to the next higher step in your career development when you become a diligent worker who does not murmur, who seeks to glorify Him by performing to the best of your ability, and who asks the Holy Spirit to help you find reasonable solutions to problem issues.

When you truly believe your work, employer, and/or entrepreneurial endeavors are blessings from Him and a step on the ladder that helps you fulfill His mission for your life and the Church, you oil the godly networking machine that positively changes your financial fortune. He is sure to show you how to stretch the income you receive and will increase it at various points in the future through promotions and new employment opportunities so you can do even more to reflect His glory in the earth and lead people to Him.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!

MoneyWalk 8 Patience

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Reaching your financial goals will not come overnight. You've embarked on a process that will take seed, TIME, and harvest to rid you of negative financial habits. By committing to biblical money management principles now, your financial condition will get better over the short and long haul. Don't be weary in well doing for in due season you shall reap if you do not faint. It's only a matter of time! You must remember, all things work together for good to those who love the LORD and are called according to His purpose.

After some time, you will be rewarded with a financial harvest when you plant money management seed according to biblical instruction via budgeting your expenses, living within your income, quickly paying off debt, and giving to support Church ministry. Soon you'll see the fruit of your financial planting spring up all around you. When sowing is constant throughout each year you will receive greater harvests in the same manner. Many abundant financial harvests await everyone who diligently and daily uses biblical principles to manage their finances.

Sure, financial struggles and difficult situations will come. Satan and the devilish forces don't want you to prosper, because prosperity allows you to properly minister to yourself, your family, and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ via tithing, offerings, and alms. Never fear the enemy’s tactics, instead walk by faith with patience and your Heavenly Father will rebuke the enemy who seeks to devour your finances. Our God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory and will go beyond that to provide godly desires and more money for you to give for ministry service to evangelize the unsaved and make disciples of those who are saved. People shall be greatly increased when they are diligent in obeying the LORD’s instruction including those aimed at the financial arena of our lives.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!

MoneyWalk 7 Financial Warfare

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

When you commit your life to following God's financial plan, your prayers will take on a more warlike tone because you may find yourself struggling with negative habits and potentially costly situations in the early stages of carrying out your plan as well as complacency, pride, and arrogance tempting you in the later stages. You must remember that you don't wrestle against flesh and blood (other men), rather you're wrestling against principalities and powers (spiritual forces) that want to keep you from fulfilling God's purpose for your life.

Your financial trouble may appear to be another person, what you were taught growing up, or an earthly situation. However, a demonic spiritual force is behind every type of stewardship that does not lead people to live and manage money in the manner outlined in the bible. This means satan is continually working to convince people to handle finances in ways opposite the LORD’s instruction. Unfortunately, many people fall for his tactics.

One of the most important things you must do to relieve your financial burden is place your flesh under submission and bring yourself under obedience to God's standards. Then, God will rebuke the devourer for your sake and you'll have the ability to use the word of God and the armor effectively in the financial arena to bind and cast out wicked spirits, ungodly philosophies, and influencers causing you to mismanage money. This helps you loose prosperous money management habits into your life by the power of the Holy Spirit (such as (a) working as unto the LORD to earn ever increasing income, (b) developing a giving / saving / spending plan that pleases Him, (c) building an emergency fund, (d) eliminating debt, (e) refusing to cosign, (f) saving, (g) investing, and (h) diversifying).

When you've done all you can to be intimate with Him via worship (thanksgiving, praise, prayer, studying scripture, fellowshipping with like-minded Christians, and adhering to biblical financial principles), stand firmly on what the bible says is the truth of how to manage money. The diligent person produces great reward in his/her life for the LORD’s glory that His name will be heard and revered in all the earth and so many other people will be blessed via giving, alms, gifts, and ministry support.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!
