This program will help you undo financial bondage.
Seeking counsel from several people who are
trustworthy and more knowledgeable than you in the financial arena provides a
layer of protection. It’s a powerful tool to help you attain and maintain
wealth and it helps you reasonably care for your family and give abundantly
with longevity to your church and other ministries to spread the gospel and meet
needs.
Wise counselors will encourage you to use several
sources (brokerages, banks, investment advisors, brokers, CPA’s, etc.)
and investment vehicles (stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, etc.).
This diversification provides protection from total loss when a particular
investment in your portfolio loses value. It also enhances the possibility that
other investments will increase, even though one or two may decrease in value, so
you do not suffer a fatal financial blow.
They will also encourage you to employ reasonable
asset allocation for your age, risk tolerance, and life situation. For example,
a 20-year-old might keep 100% of his investments in no-load low-expense stock index
mutual funds whereas a 70- year-old might keep 30% of his investments in no-load
low-expense total stock market index funds and 70% in no-load low-expense guaranteed
income funds.
Past history shows stock investments have potential to
produce double-digit returns over long-term periods (ten consecutive years
or more). This is perfect for younger people because they have many years
before they need to withdraw money from investments. On the other hand, guaranteed
income is usually more suitable for older investors (even though these
investments usually provide low single-digit returns) because seniors don’t
usually have time to make up for short-term market losses before they need to
withdraw money to live on.
Beware, some people are con artists and very good at convincing
people to invest through them, usually promising high returns over short
periods of time. Educate yourself, so you are not fooled by their schemes and
so-called promises. Check license status and complaint background of brokerage
houses and advisors you’re considering using via websites for the Securities
& Exchange Commission, state securities regulators, and FINRA. Also, learn biblical
financial principles to ensure the path on which you will be led is pleasing to
the LORD and financially and spiritually best for you.
Wise counselors will let you know everything belongs
to Almighty God, that you need to sacrifice and exhibit self-control and
contentment, that you need to plan (including some type of control over
expenses), that you need to tithe and give offerings, that you need to establish
an emergency fund, that you need to eliminate debt and co-signing, that you
need to save and invest, and that you need to diversify assets. In this regard,
they will help you be a good steward of money entrusted to you.

The
book at the link below provides principles and practical steps that help you
use the Power To Get Wealth. By 1992, we had $135,000 of debt and
a negative $35,000 net worth. Financial bondage and turmoil led me to seek
principles and a process for employing good stewardship. As a result, we became
constructively debt-free in 1998, mortgage free January 2004, millionaires in
2012, multi-millionaires shortly thereafter, and retired in 2018 in my
mid-fifties from public servant jobs while giving abundantly to fund the gospel
of our LORD Jesus Christ. The same power is available to you!
