MoneyWalk 89: God's Financial Principles

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Jesus spoke in parables so that people would not be able to understand the truth and benefit of living by faith in Him when they had hard hearts and did not really want to believe in Him or know how to live and act righteously at the current time. Because He cultivated His relationship with Father God through prayer, fasting, and obedience He knew that many situations would take place in these people’s lives from which they might one day want to know the truth of salvation by Him and real life in Him and thus cease to be scorners and mockers.

At that time, the blinders would be removed from their eyes and their ears would be unstopped. It would seem that all of a sudden their spirits would be made alive and their minds would be able to receive the divine truth by the power of the Holy Spirit. God's instructions for managing life, money, and resources would no longer be hidden from them.

Yet, many around them would either have no godliness in what they do and how they do it or they would have a form of godliness, but deny the power of God in the stewardship of their lives and money. Let’s not forget that there are many people between these two extremes at various stages of the sanctification (maturation) process that are seeking the Lord and will eventually understand and apply biblical principles of stewardship.

Those who choose to deny bible principles are like the Pharisees who wore religious attire, sought titles, and appeared holy to men, yet refused to accept that Jesus is Savior and Lord, the only way to Heaven, and that His way of doing things should be the light of their lives. If such an attitude is not repented of by the end of their lives on earth, such people will suffer eternal doom of their own choosing.

Those who accept Jesus as the Christ will continually collectively communicate gospel truth to everyone on earth and build God’s kingdom in the hearts of men and bring forth fruit that remains. This attitude and action sets you up to be blessed throughout eternity and on earth with all the resources necessary to accomplish your individual calling and the churches collective commission.

Don't let men charge you for worldly advice when God long ago shared the only principles that will truly prosper you. Wisdom that comes from God will direct you to tithe and give faithfully to your local church, the poor, and worthwhile ministries, to spend less than you make, to save and invest, to diversify your savings and investments, to refuse to borrow unnecessarily, to refuse to cosign, and to leave an inheritance for your godly seed to perpetuate gospel ministry in the earth.

Please pray for this ministry and email any questions. May God bless you richly as you follow His plan!!!

MoneyWalk 88: Will My Gifts Help Me Financially?

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Jesus Christ is the head (leader and brains) and heart of the church. His church is a spiritual organism and an earthly organization with some known members and other members who are not openly known. Each one that is a member has put their faith in Christ and are progressively maturing in obedience to Him for the spread of the gospel and the discipling of everyone who comes to Him.

Every born again believer is a part of the body of Christ, serving as hands, feet, mouths, organs, muscles, joints, and even more unseemly parts showing the connectivity of Christ’s body in both spiritual and physical ways. Our individual time spent with Christ, our corporate time together in church settings and other venues in devotion to Christ, and our work on His behalf led by the Holy Spirit are all ways in which we display the love, devotion, and unity that Christ desires.

His body always has room for more members and we go about living our lives and expressing our beliefs in a way that helps lead unbelievers to Christ, so they can hopefully choose to become believers. If you’re saved, you represent a certain portion of the body unique with your own gifts, abilities, and resources that supply exactly what is needed by other portions of the body and the world around us.

You’re similar to others in some ways and yet very different from others. God made you and carved out a place for you in Christ’s body to carry out His purpose for you in this world. Rest assured that you'll be blessed financially and in other ways as you put your gifts, abilities, and resources to use glorifying Jesus Christ by building God’s kingdom in and through your life and communication.

Allow your local church to organize your gifts to continue its ministries that reach out to the unsaved and teach and nurture the saved. In addition, be a faithful member in your local church who tithes and serve along-side other members. You definitely have some of the same gifts, abilities, and resources as other people and also some unique ones to give and serve in several areas of your church’s operations and in the world around you.

Don’t wait for perfect conditions to use what God planted in you. Serve wherever you can and watch God mature, prosper, and promote you as you use your gifts, abilities, and resources in the marketplace for Him.

Please pray for this ministry and email any questions. May God bless you richly as you follow His plan!!!

MoneyWalk 87: Should I Save and Invest?

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

The bible contains a pattern where people of God accumulated wealth from legitimate work and inheritances that would be used to carry out God’s will and take care of their families at the current time and into the future. Consider the faith of Abraham and Sarah, Jacob, Boaz and Ruth, King David, Mordecai and Esther, Joseph of Arimathea, and Barnabas.

Undoubtedly, some of the patriarchs and matriarchs suffered trials, tribulations, and even poverty at certain points in their lives. We also know that some of them committed sin on occasion. Yet, the Father was faithful to restore them when they repented and continued to build trust in Him. The bible gives no indication whatsoever that the accumulation of wealth they experienced was sinful or in conflict with His will.

The instruction of scripture is that we make sure that our devotion to God through Jesus Christ is our number one priority. See His face and not His hand. For when you seek His face, He provides all that you need and more to fulfill His plan for your life and it happens without you taking on greedy, covetous, and selfish traits.

This accumulation of wealth from godliness is the result of God opening the windows of heaven and pouring out a blessing that you cannot contain and you managing it (giving, saving, and spending it) in accordance with biblical principles for good stewardship. It is clear in scripture that you should seek to save and invest a portion of the manifold blessings God provides you.

The bible doesn't identify a specific amount that you should save and invest, yet wisdom could lead you to set aside at least ten percent of your gross pay as a minimum aim since it equals the minimum amount He exhorts us to give for the spread of the gospel and the earthly maintenance of the church and ministry staff.

You can start this process by reducing your spending on needless material purchases, so you can save as much as possible until you have at least 6 months of emergency income in a savings account. After you’ve reached that goal, put additional savings in investments that provide diversity and won't put the funds in unreasonable financial jeopardy, such as reputable stock and bond mutual funds and money market accounts.

I hope that hard times never come upon you and I pray that God sustains the church in good and bad economic times, yet Proverbs 23:20 says that wise people save and foolish people spend all that they get and Ecclesiasts 11:2 exhorts you to invest a portion of your income with seven or eight sources because you don't know what bad times may come upon you.

Just remember, savings and investments are not your source. They’re only a resource that God the source allows you to set aside to provide help in time of need: maybe for yourself, maybe for others, probably for both. Never be worried about the amount of your accumulation. Simply work hard and be a good steward according to biblical instruction concerning giving, saving, and spending and you will find that the amounts that you accumulate over time will be immensely helpful in carrying out God’s will for your life.

Please pray for this ministry and email any questions. May God bless you richly as you follow His plan!!!

MoneyWalk 86: Should I give to special projects?

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

No doubt you have been faced with the question of whether or not you should give to specific ministry projects. Your thought about giving to a project might not be positive at the moment and you're wondering what you should do. Is it good to build a big edifice in the face of dying, hungry, and lost people surrounding you? Will the ministry really help lead people to Jesus? Will the missionary be a good steward of the money?

Initial thoughts like these may be rolling around in your head, but it's important to step back and consider whether or not the ministry leaders are guiding the ministry in the direction God wants it to go to do the things He wants it to do. A positive conclusion should lead you to ask the Holy Spirit what He would have you do in support of worthwhile ministry endeavors. The answer to these considerations will help you know what to do in support of such ministry.

There were special projects in the bible where leaders asked everyone to give money and resources to build the tabernacle, temple, city wall, and provide for the needs of a particular community. Those who were willing were led by the Holy Spirit to give in support of these initiatives. Your consistent tithing, offering, and prayer will directly and indirectly benefit the kingdom by ministering what is on God’s heart. So, by all means consider giving money, prayer, and/or service for every project that glorifies God, disciples His people, or leads the unsaved to Jesus Christ.

Please pray for this ministry and email any questions. May God bless you richly as you follow His plan!!!
