MoneyWalk 44: In Jesus Christ you are prosperous

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

People who rebel against God are spiritually and eternally dead, but Jesus Christ gives living water when you repent of sin and ask Him, with all your heart, to be Savior and LORD. God gives the lonely a home to dwell in and leads prisoners to prosperity.

This salvation, which brings new life, can begin right now whether you’re driving your car or sitting at home. Jesus wants you to fulfill God’s purpose for your life, spiritually, eternally and naturally. That can happen only when you let Him guide you. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers, but his delight is in the law of the Lord and on His law he meditates day and night.

He's the one who created you, filled you with a godly purpose, and called you out of darkness to be led by His marvelous light. Confess and profess to others your acceptance of His call and let me know about your decision. It’s the best decision you could ever make and all of God’s children will rejoice with the heavenly angels on your behalf. Folly is a joy to him who has no sense, but a man of understanding walks uprightly.

Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not forsaking to assemble yourselves together like some have done, but encouraging one another all the more as you see judgment day drawing nearer. You’ll become much more useful to God and others as you encourage and edify them by getting involved in church ministry and sharing your testimony of what God has done in your life spiritually, eternally, naturally, and financially.

Encourage yourself to godly works by using biblical principles to govern your life and financial affairs. You'll see positive changes accelerate your life when you commit to Christ’s stewardship commands. He came that you might have life and have it more abundantly.

Please email any questions and pray for this ministry. May God bless you richly as you follow His plan!!!

MoneyWalk 43: Should I pay taxes?

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Some are teaching that the government has no right to collect taxes. One argument is that Christians do not have to pay taxes because they are free from the law of man. A similar argument is your allegiance is to God only and therefore you don’t owe the government anything you didn't borrow from it. Another argument is our elected officials have no right to enact laws requiring taxes because the constitution does not allow it. Another argument is taxes oppress citizens and therefore must be fought against at all costs and left unpaid if thrust upon you.

These arguments can seem rational to a carnal minded person, however when compared against bible instruction they are invalid. Jesus answered them all by saying, "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and render unto God what is God's." He also instructed Peter to pay taxes for both of them and provided for the payment through miraculous means. Later the Apostles Paul and Peter, in their writings inspired by the Holy Spirit, instructed Christians to obey government rulers and to pay taxes because the government provides some important benefits for the welfare of the people.

Obeying government regulations applies to each situation that does not result in disobeying God’s commandment to worship Him, disciple believers, and evangelize the unsaved. It is true that a government could raise the amount of taxation to such an enormous level that it causes people to rebel against it. One of the early fights of our American forefathers was against taxation without representation. Yet, for the believer God is sure to provide those who follow His financial principles more than enough to pay taxes charged by the government.

Let’s be clear, it is not un-patriotic to take advantage of every legal option to reduce your taxes to the lowest possible level. Finding an honest accountant to complete your tax forms can help you in that endeavor and may help make sure that you are not paying any more than you absolutely have to pay. With some of the extra that is left over you should consider freely giving to help spread the gospel and meet needs of the poor, oppressed, orphans, and widows in various parts of the world.

MoneyWalk 42: Managing Risk

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

You should utilize trustworthy financial advisors to help analyze your family’s need for different types of risk management tools. This should include discussion about how you can reasonably revise your budget to cover required payments or investment amounts and the various alternatives that exist.

If your finances are not in a position to purchase the tools you really need to protect your family, this is the perfect time to utilize your advisors to help develop a plan that will help you take action to put your finances in shape so that you can have more than enough money at some point in the future to fund the tools you really need.

No matter how much you are able to purchase, always stand on the fact that God will take care of you and give you peace through Jesus Christ to guard your heart and mind in situations you can't currently provide for or control. God is your only ironclad protection. However, never let this stop you from being a good steward who purchases the financial tools you can to help protect your family from the risks that everyone faces in this life.

Please pray for this ministry and email any questions. May God bless you richly as you follow His plan!!!

MoneyWalk 454: Forgiving helps you manage better

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

There are countless people I talk with who allow un-forgiveness to wreck their discipline. The consequences of un-forgiveness are that tormenters guide your actions (bad choices promoted by evil spiritual forces). Then, you seek revenge on others that consciously and unconsciously have you making bad decisions. Sometimes, you can’t forgive yourself for acts that you’ve done and you consciously or unconsciously make bad decisions. Both of these situations lead to overspending to either get back at someone or to try to appease the unpleasant feeling you have about what you or they have done to you.

Maybe a divorce is taking place and you don’t like that your spouse committed adultery, so you make the decision to spend whatever money you can get your hands on to try and take everything away from him/her instead of forgiving and settling the disagreement reasonably and amicably even when divorce proceedings occur.

Maybe you had an abortion sometime ago or had a baby out of wedlock and gave him/her up for adoption, so since that time you make decisions to spend money on every item you think you desire with the thought that it will appease that gut-wrenching feeling you’ve been having. Sometimes, overspending money has been an outright attempt to sabotage your life because you don’t believe you’re deserving of any blessings because of what you’ve done.

Forgiveness is the step you need to take to bring yourself to a place where you can be lead by the Holy Spirit. He will grow you by filling your heart and mind with God’s love for you regardless of your past sins or possible future blunders. Also, He will share how you now should walk to better your future and be a good steward. He does this through bible instruction, personal guidance, church fellowship, relationships with believers, and instruction from your pastor. In addition, He will fill you with power to do all this after you choose Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

This grace provides the foundation level of forgiveness you need. It also allows you to forgive yourself for your past, present, and future misdeeds. Also, it allows you to overcome all negative commentary from other people concerning your actions and their feelings about you and it simultaneously allows you to immediately forgive their trespasses against you. This forgiven condition of heart and mind allows you to move positively forward as a good steward of the manifold blessings of God. In addition, it reminds you that God’s blessings are available to you and are not based on your goodness or uprightness but rather on Christ’s unstained righteousness.

Now, you can be a person of discipline who can envision a blessed future, stop unwisely using debt instruments, budget your income and expenses to live within your means, and build future wealth for giving, saving, investing, and responsible spending.

Please pray for this ministry and email any questions. May God bless you richly as you follow His plan!!!

MoneyWalk 41: Trusting God to cover loss

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Only God can truly help your family recover from incidents, emergencies, and catastrophes. Yet, it’s prudent to consider insurance a portion of your plan to cover future risk in various areas of your life. Determine your need for insurance based on the costs you or your family will truly need to cover when incidents occur. For example, consider whether or not you have enough income or assets to cover the costs that you will incur if a family member is injured or needed property is damaged. You should also consider whether or not you could self-insure a portion of the risk by saving enough within a short period of time to cover the costs.

For example, if you drive a car that's worth $1,000 and the physical damage coverage would cost $500 per year, it may be best to purchase only liability coverage because you have a much higher probability of amassing within a reasonable amount of time the amount of money than your car is worth or that is likely to be needed to make repairs than you have of being involved in an accident that requires you to pay $1,000 for damage to your vehicle.

However, if the cost for the physical damage insurance is low, say $50 per year with a low deductible and you do not currently have enough assets amassed to purchase another vehicle or make needed repairs when damage occurs, you may want to purchase the coverage and work out a budget for saving so that in the future you could self-insure the physical damage risk.

You would not want to treat liability coverage, health, or disability coverage in this same manner because you cannot know finitely what your exposure may be until an incident or diagnosis is received. Yet, you can work with financial professionals, insurers, and their representatives to identify the lowest cost options that will fit your financial situation and help protect your family and finances.

If you have saved enough money to provide your dependents an annual income that equals or exceeds your current income, you may not need to purchase life insurance unless your family will have extenuating circumstances such as estate tax payments or liquidity problems that will not allow inherited assets to provide the level of income necessary to continue the family’s current lifestyle. Again, you should seek the guidance of financial, insurance, and legal counsel to make sure you have covered all the bases to make the right decision for your family and finances.

Just remember, insurance purchases are always based on an uncertain future and estimates and thus benefits you choose may not cover all that you truly need when incidents, emergencies, or catastrophes occur. Therefore, after having done all that you can to reasonably prepare for the future by seeking His guidance through godly counselors and taking the actions you need to take, put your total trust in God that He will cause all things to work together for good in every situation that you will face.
