MoneyWalk 59 Other People Help You Succeed

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

There are people around you who know how to find quality merchandise and service at bargain prices. Others have skill sets you need and will do great work for you at prices that fit your budget. Other people pay top dollar because they’ve believed commercial hype via commercials, advertisements, and hyped up marketing personalities. However, friends and others that surround you (whose who show wisdom in their decision-making) have your best interest at heart and will provide information, service, and referrals that help you succeed. They are willing to help you discern when paying a higher price to a particular provider will make valuable, positive difference due to product performance or service you will receive.

You will do well to take note of wise people and those with great skill and consult them frequently prior to purchasing expensive products and services. Good counsel and service from these individuals will require you to get off any high horse of belief that presumes products and services are worthwhile only when you pay someone top dollar for them. While that is sometimes true, it is not always the case. Many times, there are low cost and high cost options and sometimes the difference in quality, durability, comfort, styling, etc. is not worth paying the higher price.

Wise people, bargain shoppers, and skilled people that surround your life will help you walk down the road to financial freedom and into The Wealthy Place by allowing you to quickly pay off debts using money you used to spend buying high-priced merchandise, brands, and services. Great leaders and smart people allow other people's skills, spiritual gifts, and prophetic insights to guide them to success in their lives. So, instead of hanging out with people who help you spend money you don’t have, spend more time with those who will help you reach higher levels spiritually and financially by encouraging you to (a) squeeze unnecessary fat from your spending, (b) give abundantly, and (c) save and invest reasonably.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!

MoneyWalk 58 Bargain Shopping Helps You

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

I worked in a meat packing plant and saw it package many different brands with some ingredient variations. It produced much the same types of meats for each brand. This process works the same way for many different industries and types of merchandise. Thus, what you’ve been buying may not be any better quality than what’s sold by another source at a lower price. To be a better steward of money the LORD entrusts to you, research buying items from reputable discount retailers whenever possible. When using lower price sources, determine whether the products and service fit the design and quality you need. Viewing sales and clearance racks to see if they have what you need before moving to non-sale items helps in this regard.

For most of your wardrobe and things often used, you should purchase conservative apparel and other belongings that maintain their utility and remain in style for long periods of time instead of choosing faddish things that will quickly be out of style and unusable. Also, negotiate discounts or simply find out what discounts are available on homes, cars, furniture, appliances, other products, and services because most sellers provide them if you ask. You will most definitely have not when you ask not. Yet, you often will get what you ask for, when you do not ask amiss.

When used with the strategy of eliminating unnecessary spending, these methods can save thousands of dollars per year you would otherwise pay out by purchasing items at higher prices. When you do not research to find less expensive alternatives that meet design and quality standards you will overspend and not as effectively use income and assets from which you could increase giving, establish an emergency fund, eliminate debt, and increase investments. To eliminate such habits, you should consider this a loss of income and assets because the money could have been used in better ways to accomplish the LORD’s purposes including care for your family, funding gospel ministry, and preparing for the future. When you follow this strategy in good and tough times, you'll build habits that will pull you out of the pit of financial despair and put you in a future position to comfortably splurge on needed and desired merchandise without bills eating you up and unpaid creditors constantly calling you up.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!

MoneyWalk 57 We’re Born Again To Be Givers

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Prior to accepting Jesus as Savior & LORD, I thought I was financially savvy. However, I was ignorant of the truth and mired my family in debt. When I accepted Him, I finally recognized the truth of my incompetence. It was then I asked Him to show me how to manage money to be financially successful so I could do His will and be successful in sharing His Word with other people.

During bible study, He showed me financial principles we could employ like giving in ways that honor Him that also help the poor, oppressed, and orphans. These activities (motivated by a heart for Him) keeps His blessing flowing down on us. Tithing challenged us because at the time when we did not see how we had enough money to tithe and pay all our bills. Of course, satan tempted us to refrain from this godly financial activity. However, we didn't succumb to his trickery. As a result, we've been immensely blessed to see our debts totally eliminated, giving increased, and assets / investments exponentially increased for the greater part of the past three decades.

Faithfully tithe and give offerings to your local church and other worthwhile ministries along with budgeting, saving, pursuing debt-freedom, and investing. These are the foundation stones you need to truly prosper and be in position to do the LORD’s will the way He desires. Before long, you'll receive income increases, promotions, bargains, benefits, and gifts that allow you to retain greater amounts of income to pay off your bills and accumulate wealth much faster than you otherwise could. Your results will totally confound the vast majority of people who follow the world’s financial principles and never really prosper, spiritually or financially.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!

7-6-20 Daily Word

If you must choose, take a good name rather than great riches; for to be held in loving esteem with a good reputation is better than silver and gold.

MoneyWalk 56 Do Not Cosign

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

You have a responsibility to help those truly in need according to your ability. However, you must discern the devil's strategy to have you waste money the LORD entrusts to you on people who (a) mismanage money and responsibilities, (b) will continue to do so, (c) do not regard the LORD’s will and way, and (d) would lead you to squander money on funding their desires (cars, houses, boats, etc.) that could be spent taking proper care of your family, leading people to Christ, and forming them into His disciples.

The vast majority of people who make cosigning requests fail to meet their obligations and the payment responsibility then falls back on the people who cosigned the loans. Therefore, refuse to cosign for others while encouraging them to use biblical money management principles. In the vast majority of situations, you do not help people when you cosign loans for them. Instead, you enable them to continue acting irresponsibly, which continues their pattern of forsaking wisdom in caring for themselves and family. Instead of cosigning, lead them to the knowledge of God’s will, sacrifice, contentment, self-control, delayed gratification, and complete trust in Him. These things will help them better manage time, money, and resources in ways that increase income and wealth. Then, they will no longer need to ask people to cosign loans.

When a true need exists, it's best to give a person cash or resources on hand you don’t need to take care of priority items like family, mortgage, rent, and bills you owe. Prudence dictates that you give only after asking enough questions and allowing the Holy Spirit to give spiritual discernment to gauge whether the person will be responsible in managing money going forward. This helps them resolve abnormal situations and eliminate irresponsible activities that would otherwise lead to future financial problems.

Of course, there are times where you extend help to people in the community or in another part of the world, simply because you’ve identified an emergency need. Sometimes, we don’t know entirely the situation at hand and whether or not the person is irresponsible and it led to the sad situation. So, whenever the Holy Spirit directs you to help a person or give to a need, you must obey Him (a) for your best to come to pass, (b) for Him to bring what is important to the attention of the person being helped, and (c) for your giving to be an example to others of complete trust in the LORD’s guidance.

However, consider that He never asks you to do anything in a way that violates scriptural commands and principles.  This should be the basis for measuring the manner you will respond. The bible never encourages people to take on monetary debt either through borrowing or cosigning. So, refuse to cosign for anyone unless you already have the money saved in a safe and sound place and are truly prepared to pay off the entire loan when they default on it.

If you have cosigned a note for someone, the bible tells you to quickly go to the lender and attempt to remove your name off the debt. It also tells you that your belongings are subject to be taken if you are not released from the debt, because in most instances the person you cosigned for will fail to pay the debt off. Please don't fall out with a friend because you failed to make the right decision by refusing to cosign for his/her debt. Your failure might be one of the reasons the person has not become responsible in his/her financial dealings. Continue to love the person, stay away from co-signing in the future, and guide him/her to complete trust in and obedience to God’s will in the area of finances moving forward. This takes pressure and stress off trying to be your friend’s savior and puts the concern squarely upon your friend following biblical principles to have all his/her need meet according to the riches and glory in Jesus Christ.

Please pray for this ministry, email me with any questions, and contact me to speak at your business or ministry conference or workshop. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!
