No one can claim to be so different that he or she does not need to worship, praise, pray, study scripture, fellowship with a local Church of believers, and serve others (minister) in ways that honor the LORD. Though we are unique in many ways and each person may have a different type of work to which they are called, biblical instruction applies equally to every person in the same manner. Those who want blessing reward from Almighty God will be transformed by the renewing of their minds and thus conformed to His image (living life and carrying out our work according to His instructions). The following weapons of spiritual warfare are needed for the financial realm of our lives to build the character and habits in us that our LORD desires to help us carry out His purpose: The Great Commandment The Great Commission placed on our individual lives and the Church.

Eleven Biblical Principles for Financial Freedom Wealth Building

1) God owns everything – you are His steward (estate / money manager):

2) Work to be fruitful and produce income:

Genesis 2:15, Ephesians 4:27-28, 2 Thessalonians 3:6-11

 

3) Show contentment:

4) Sacrifice to initiate God’s plan for your ministry blessing:

5) Show self-control:

6) Tithe and give offerings from increase:

8) Eliminate all debt:

Seven Focused Steps to Financial Freedom

(methods based on the principles noted above)

 

1) Budget: Tell your money what to do – plan at least 3 months into the future.

a. Subtract all your current spending each month or pay period from your net income to show you where you are currently and help you decide what needs to change to be able to become debt free and build wealth

b. If your situation is too messed up right now to achieve financial freedom you may need to cut retirement and non-essential pay roll deductions and other expenses and find other income producing options

 

2) Build a $1,000 first tier emergency fund

a. You may be able to do this and the rest of the steps while also contributing to tax deferred plan to get employer match if you can do so and pay off all debt within the next 2 years

 

3) Pay off all non-mortgage debt as quickly as possible

 

4) Invest at least 10% of your gross income each pay period including funding tax deferred retirement vehicles up to the employer matching percentage, if you are not already doing so

 

5) Build your emergency fund to $10,000

 

6) Pay off all your mortgage debt

a. Income producing properties could be paid off in step number three if they do not have very large mortgages

b. Alternately, you may need to consider selling them earlier in the process in order to use the equity / profits to more quickly become debt free

 

7) Use the tremendous surplus income (cash flow) you now have each month in order to give more abundantly and build great wealth

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Most people’s desires ramp up and their hearts start racing when they read articles or hear stories about people who made millions. They hope to receive a huge inheritance or get a prosperity plan from a rich person so they can eventually be one of whom the story is told. Some want riches to spend upon their own lusts believing the greatest human priority is to live in ease with the finest material trappings. They believe people should purchase all the luxury items they desire and then the necessities of life will take care of themselves. Others simply don't know God’s purpose for man and for their life in particular. Many simply do not know who and what they should love and pursue.

The Bible tells us not to love money or have our eyes set on the pleasures of this earth as the highest priority. Yet, it lets us know through many stories and instructions that money, bartering, and resources are necessary mediums of exchange that everyone will deal with and that faithful followers should make efforts to increase our resources for furtherance of the gospel in the earth. In fact, the bible clearly shows that, even in the midst of persecution, God blessed many believers with great material riches and they were able to live in a greater level of physical and financial comfort while partnering with Him to minister in the earth by giving great sums of money and resources toward the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Though most people want the luxurious earthly lifestyle that could be purchased with riches, many don’t want the responsibility of doing what God requires and don’t want to hear about good stewardship because they might be convicted by not obeying biblical instruction. Yet, in order for your riches to have meaning and benefit beyond this temporal life on earth, you must do the things that make your life fruitful regardless of whether riches have yet come your way. Walking in such principles while you have little allows Heaven’s windows to be opened to you so God’s treasures can be poured upon you. Then, after you become wealthy, you will continue to walk in intimacy with Him and according to biblical financial principles. Heaven’s windows will be continually open with treasures poured upon you, so you always have an abundance for every good work.

Biblically speaking, each rich person is supposed to reverence and honor God, giving abundantly to spread the gospel and doing good works in proportion to the riches entrusted to him or her. So, if you truly dream of being rich understand your responsibilities in Christ and begin to perform them now without excuse because it is NOT likely you would perform them if you come into riches without having done them. Begin your wealth-building plan by consistently giving one tenth of your gross income plus an offering to your local church and continue throughout your life by giving as abundantly to ministry as you desire to lavish upon yourself.

No matter what your current status in life, true fulfillment comes only from relationship with God and the best financial growth comes only by employing His system of managing money and resources. Remember only what you do for Christ will produce rewards that last throughout eternity!

Managing money by employing biblical principles makes you a better person by enabling you to undo financial bondage and build wealth to bless your family, church, and other people while leading them to the LORD Jesus. Know this, you will suffer persecution when you commit to following Him, no less managing money the way He commanded. Many people will think and some will say your beliefs and actions are silly and illogical because they think they won't let you enjoy life. Many will say taking out loans to obtain things when you cannot afford to pay cash for them is the only reasonable way to live, especially when the loan would be obtained for education, real estate, or cars. When this type of attack is level against you because you decide to follow godly principles for managing money, you must remember His glory is what you seek, His ways are higher than your ways, and always lead to the blessings and rewards, without sorrow, He has in store. Patiently plowing and sowing seeds according to biblical principles causes peace and joy to fill your life, even in the midst of attacks others make against you. More importantly, you store treasures in Heaven for your arrival there after you leave Earth. In Christ, you will not have to endure great eternal sorrow like those who follow the path of disobedience the world is on.

Many people will wonder how you became wealthy while letting Christ live in you, especially since you refused to follow conventional worldly wisdom about fulfillment, wealth building, and success. Your life will become an example for all to follow in placing His priorities and ways of doing things above their own. Through your actions, many will see it’s not about money; rather it’s about glorifying God with the money and resources He entrusts to them. We all suffer various forms of persecution as we walk the way the LORD wants us to, financially and otherwise. In some Middle Eastern, African, Asian, and other countries people suffer imprisonment, torture, and death as a result of choosing to follow Jesus. Some are forced into indoctrination camps of other religions, communism, or atheism so leaders of those countries can attempt to brainwash gospel truth out of their minds. Laws in some of these nations consider Christianity criminal and some governments attempt to establish non-scriptural doctrine within Christian churches by requiring that they register and hold meetings when, where, and how the government desires.

Nations expose themselves to danger and destruction when they draft laws and judges issue court decisions restricting peoples’ ability to teach what the bible says, evangelize the lost, and build people up in Christ-likeness. This is contrary to God’s will and erodes the country’s moral base and ultimately results in societal chaos and anarchy, unless corrected. I pray the Holy Spirit moves the heart of leaders around the world to eliminate laws attempting to restrict freedom to live Christ-like and thus be productive and prosperous.

While realizing there are negative situations Christians must live through and minister to, we must also remember the positive result of Christ leading our lives: we are prosperous in persecution! Just like diamonds are made from many years of extreme pressure and dross on gold and silver is eliminated via seemingly unbearable fire, so God allows us to be pressed, crushed, ridiculed, and persecuted in order that we may display His character through it and be fashioned into blessed vessels useful to His kingdom and to those around us.

Christian soldier, let the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guide your heart and mind, so even though you will suffer persecution, you are certain He will abundantly supply all your need, so you can do every good work for which He created you.

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

 

You manage money properly when you give, save, and spend reasonable portions of it to take care of all present and future responsibilities God gives you. Such stewardship is a display of the gospel seed planted in your life that produces good fruit (godly character and works that magnify the LORD) that in turn produce more good seed to lead, serve, and bless other people via the good works He created you to do in Christ.

Satan and his demonic cohorts will continue to attack you with the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Never let your stewardship be guided by greed, covetousness, waste and other wicked objectives taught by satan and pursued by the world. God punishes the proud and uplifts the humble. It is best to let Him punish satan and destroy his former works in you, otherwise you put yourself in a position where His justice must punish you along with satan and demons.

 

Anytime you operate outside of God's plan for your life and do things opposite the way in which He directed, you're operating out of pride because you're saying you know better than God does how to be successful and fulfilled in life. Also, you're fulfilling lusts because you're putting receipt of material things and short-lived pleasures ahead of your relationship with God. You're not seeking the Kingdom of God first and His righteousness trusting that He will provide you all other things necessary for life and godliness while you walk out this life.

 

Walking in the spirit is very important in managing your money properly because when you walk in the Spirit you will not fulfill ungodly lusts. You’ll spend money on products or services with an eye on God receiving glory. The fruit of the Spirit that guides your lifestyle will also guide how you steward possessions entrusted to you. Then, you’ll truly be a living example of Christ-likeness who helps those around you who need the eternal, loving, saving, protecting relationship that can only be found in Jesus Christ. Along with that you will show them via His word and your life the blessing and reward of tithing, abundant giving, planning so monthly expenses do not exceed income, saving emergency reserve funds, debt-free living, refusing to cosign, investing for the future, and diversifying assets.
