Y2K
was the term used to describe the crisis some thought would occur when 12 AM January
1, 2000 arrived. The worry that computer systems would shut down at that moment
and cause a ripple effect in power grids, business operations, and households
all over the world because most computer programs allowed only two digits of
computer code in the field that described the last two numbers of each decade
within the 20th century. Many experts surmised everything that used
computer chips would be destroyed by this supposed lack of foresight by
computer makers. Chaos the world had never seen would ensue due to people’s
inability to power up anything digital, because this crisis wouldn’t allow them
to live in the comfort to which they’d become accustomed. It would require more
money to get things fixed or replaced than most people had available.
The
good news was this crisis never happened because computerized systems handled
the new year double zeros far better than many surmised they would. Yet,
history shows us crises will occur periodically throughout each lifetime,
whether they’re our own personal crises or those that affect vast communities
of people. We’re instructed by scripture to prepare for them, including
employing good financial stewardship, in order to do our part to overcome them
and even prosper during the time we’re dealing with such crises. The negative
effects of any crisis can be overcome by trusting the Lord’s ability to provide
your need at all times, including doing your part to use the empowerment and
tools He already provided.
He
commands you to give to spread the gospel throughout the earth to evangelize
and make disciples. He instructs you to put a portion of income and assets in a
portfolio of at least seven wise investments because you don’t know the
troubles that may come upon your community and life. He encourages you to store
up reasonable treasures in preparation for lean times, and to continually
engage fruitful work to produce financial harvests, even when many others are
being slothful or apathetic because all they see with their natural minds and
earthly mindsets are terrible environments and conditions they think will make
work futile.
Biblical
instruction should lead you to plan and set goals to succeed and overcome
crises because scripture has shown such actions and investments will (a)
bless us and many others, (b) reward you even during times of economic
hardship surrounding you, and (c) will continually, consistently, and
abundantly grow to help provide, along with the Lord’s supernatural assistance,
all you need financially to overcome each crisis. This good stewardship is His
will and pleases Him.

The
book at the link below provides principles and practical steps that help you
use the Power to Get Wealth. By 1992, we had $135,000 of debt and
a negative $35,000 net worth. Financial bondage and turmoil led me to seek
principles and a process for employing good stewardship. As a result, we became
constructively debt-free in 1998, mortgage free January 2004, millionaires in
2012, multi-millionaires shortly thereafter, and retired in 2018 in my
mid-fifties from public servant jobs while giving abundantly to fund the gospel
of our LORD Jesus Christ. The same power is available to you!
