MoneyWalk 214 Financial Dexterity

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Christians should learn to be skilled at what the Lord calls us to do. The Holy Spirit gives understanding necessary for skillfulness because He stands ready to qualify everyone who comes to Jesus Christ and is thus called to ministry.

Ministry is any full-time or part-time work or service you engage where the input conforms to biblical principles for living and where the output produces godly fruit and/or income that will support the Great Commission that Jesus instructed members of His body to engage. When you work as unto the Lord, recognizing Him as Creator, King, and Lord of all then your work in any legitimate industry qualifies as ministry (business, sports, politics, government, pastoral care, evangelism, etc.).

No matter how many vocations and avocations you have at one time, your God-given priority is to make sure you input godliness so your output is good fruit. This is also true in your responsibility as manager over money and possessions entrusted to you. Everything you have is really His and you are simply a steward over a portion of His estate. Therefore, you want to be knowledgeable, understanding, and wise about managing His belongings in order to get the most out of them for His glory.

Never say you don't have enough money to manage (tithe, give offerings, budget, eliminate debt, save, invest, and diversify assets), otherwise your mind will focus on spending all income and gifts you receive and taking out loans to finance things you want that are not good for your situation today. This will lead to a life of debt bondage that will motivate you to forgo tithing, saving, and investing for greater future returns that would put you in a stable and ever better financial position as you move into the future.

It takes spiritual dexterity in order maintain a positive outlook and follow the Lord’s instructions for managing finances in good and bad times. The Holy Spirit resides in you and gives you needed dexterity to help you be profitable, blessed, and prosperous so you can be generous with yourself, other people, your local church, and ministries in order to play the part for which you were created to build His Kingdom in the hearts of men, women, and children.
