MoneyWalk 445: You shall not murder

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Almighty God, in scripture, commands us not to murder. A definition of murder is to in malice kill a person unlawfully. Even though there are laws punishing murder in every nation on earth, there are still a small percentage of people who murder other people. If only 1% of people on earth murder other people each year that amounts to 60 million people murdering another person each year.

Laws are based on a set of morals shared by human beings or a particular people group in a community (nation or culture) and they are very important in letting people know what the community expects that they will not do and what the consequences are if they commit certain acts. This religious belief contained in laws is very important and necessary because otherwise chaos ensues from each person doing whatever he wants because it is right in his own eyes. Right or wrong would be based in no certain belief or standard and thus selfishness will overtake decision making. You would have a situation where a greater number of people are willing to murder and commit other heinous acts against other people because they believe doing so will greatly benefit them even if other people are disadvantaged. In addition, they will get the wrong idea about the benefit of such acts and will continue to commit them because punishment not exacted for such behavior.

Since laws have not stopped this 1% from murdering others, what is the most important weapon against murderous activities? A change of heart based on a moral code (standards for behavior) that is believed to be right and where un-repented activities not in compliance with that Code will one day be punished. I find the best and only one that matters eternally is the one that springs from a relationship with Jesus Christ. Where His love is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost causing me to learn His ways and not want to do anything that would displease Him, such as committing murder. By His love and the new creation it makes of a person, even those who have formerly committed murder will be forgiven when they give their hearts to Him and will be changed for now and evermore. Subsequent testimony, growth, actions, and good fruit over time tell whether a person has truly given his heart to Christ.

The tie in to finances is that we don’t want to murder any area of our life or character by being a bad steward of the manifold blessings that the Father has given us. God has commanded people everywhere to do certain things and given those who believe in Christ the Holy Spirit to help guide them from the inside out to do what is right in His eyes. We are acting unlawfully and quite possibly in malice when we trample upon God’s commands by failing to learn them and follow them. Such murderous activity will not only hurt, disadvantage, and destroy us at some point if not repented of (turned away from) it also has an influence that can hurt others or lead them to hurt themselves.

Even though some liberty is taken using “murder” in the arena of finances, I hope you get the point. Failing to follow the commands and principles of God in any area including finances will ultimately harm you and others. God desires that you have whatever abundance is necessary for you to do what He purposed for you to do. Commit from this day forward that you will not murder His plan for you and that you will move forward in love in every area, including finances, so that you get out of life for yourself and other people everything He created you for. Adhering to biblical financial principles will make this a reality throughout your life.

Please pray for this ministry and email any questions. May God bless you richly as you follow His plan!!!
