MoneyWalk 330: Properly Use Wisdom

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

King Solomon was a man of great wisdom, yet something went terribly wrong in his life. His immorality became progressively worse, so that theologians argue about whether or not he was in relationship with Father God at his death. He was a good king in many ways but his unwise actions affected the kingdom of Israel so much that it split apart shortly after his death after his son who ascended to the throne would not relieve the tax oppression Solomon had levied on the people to take care of idol worshipping queens and concubines and to obtain and maintain excessive material things.

He disobeyed God by making treaties with nations God told Israel to conquer and not make alliances with. To make matters worse, he married hundreds of these nations’ princesses to feed fleshly lusts and make alliances that were not God’s will for Israel. Even though the LORD early on gave Solomon direct access to His wisdom, he choose to progressively use sensual, human derived intelligence to direct his path with realizing that it would progressively lead him and many Israelites away from the LORD, who alone is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient and thus knows specifically what is best for every single person, family, and nation and who knows the decisions and actions necessary for us to obtain and sustain true reward and blessing.

Solomon actions led to idol worship throughout the land, ungodly excesses at every turn, oppression of the citizens, and emptiness in his soul. Regardless of the gold laden temple he built, all the riches he secured, and his fame throughout the known world, the course of his life became a foul odor to God and caused immorality to fester in Israel for many years because of his poor example and his failure to properly use the wisdom God granted him.

You can escape this trap by following biblical principles in every area of your life. When you seek him, the LORD will not direct you in a manner that violates His will written in the bible. Don’t make treaties with the devil, worldly people, or your carnal nature by overspending and going into debt, rather make your priority legitimate gainful employment, giving first and abundantly to fund the Great Commission, and budgeting the remainder of the income God entrusts to you to care for family now and into the future through reasonable and disciplined saving, investing, and spending that glorifies Him and brings you earthly and eternal benefit.

Please pray for this ministry and email any questions. May the LORD bless you richly as you follow His plan!
