MoneyWalk 152 The Blessing Of Balance

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Good money managers organize their lives to know when bills are due and how much is owed and pay their bills on time. They also immediately record checking deposits and withdrawals and balance checkbooks every month to ensure they’re able to pay future bills and that money is not illegally taken by financial institutions or thieves. They listen to the Lord’s voice to understand how He’d have them give, save, and spend within the boundaries of the Bible’s standards on lifestyle and good stewardship.

To have a healthy financial life, you must organize to know the state of your income and expenses. Balancing your checkbook is one means to this end as is drafting an income giving, spending, and saving plan (a budget). Also, you must do the best you possibly can to ensure your expenses do not exceed your income and that you have assets to cover shortfalls in the few months that this might be the case due to unexpected periods of unemployment.

Do not purchase products or services using credit when you don’t have more than enough cash to pay off the account immediately. If you don’t have cash on hand, forego the purchase because your income projections for making future credit payments may not work out like you envisioned and thus put you in a tough financial position for covering your bills. Allow God to supernaturally bring the item to you free of charge or in a way that will not lead to financial bondage.

The first entry in your monthly budget should be to set aside at least ten percent of your income (the tithe) and bring it to your local church where you receive spiritual food, fellowship, and training. If you don’t have a church, find a bible-believing one. When you forsake the regular assembly of believers you cannot be truly fulfilled and prosperous no matter how much money you make or wealth you have.

Your God-given purpose is intertwined with fellowship and discipleship within a local expression of the body of Christ. Thus, interacting with leaders and members within your local church and other believers, you are called to make intimacy with the Lord via daily worship (including thanksgiving, praise, and prayer) and service to others the priority of your life that interacts with every pursuit you engage (career, friendships, recreation, education, business, etc.). Loving the Lord and your neighbors in this way is the balance you need to be obedient to His call and standards and to live in the power of the Holy Spirit to be fruitful and prosper in all you do.

The book at the link below provides principles and practical steps that help you use the Power To Get Wealth. By 1992, we had $135,000 of debt and a negative $35,000 net worth. Financial bondage and turmoil led me to seek principles and a process for employing good stewardship. As a result, we became constructively debt-free in 1998, mortgage free January 2004, millionaires in 2012, multi-millionaires shortly thereafter, and retired in 2018 in my mid-fifties from public servant jobs while giving abundantly to fund the gospel of our LORD Jesus Christ. The same power is available to you!
