MoneyWalk 326 No Finance, No Romance

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Over fifty percent of marriages end in divorce and over fifty percent of them are due to financial difficulties and differences in opinion on finances. This includes many that were decades in the making. Spouses are hurting each other and we’re creating selfish, bratty children. Often this is unintentional but is often due to our failure to be good examples by properly managing our desires, money, and financial life.

If this isn’t bad enough, the problems get worse during and after divorce proceedings due to costly property fights, legal proceedings that can last many years, and provisions for second and third families. It can be said that the breakup of the bible-based arrangement & unity of families (that is necessary for instructing everyone in godliness in every arena of life) is a leading cause of the continual record-level rise in home foreclosures, vehicle repossessions, bankruptcies, and local / state / national debt.

Borrowing to buy depreciating assets at ever-increasing prices usually destroys a marriage because it beats the spouses down via stress, financial pressure, poverty, hopelessness, and life beneath the abundance God planned for them. He gave you free will to choose between right and wrong and established the blessings and curses that accompany these choices. You won’t escape the consequences of wrong choices until you have a change of heart that leads to seeking His will and obeying biblical principles to make the right choices.

God’s plan for correcting your attitude and actions will strengthen the bond of unity. Yet, your free-will cooperation is needed. You’ll engage His plan when you love His will more than your own. Your love for Him and increasing knowledge and understanding of His will should cause you to (a) tithe & give abundantly to Church ministry, (b) draft a 6-month to 1-year budget to control spending, (c) save emergency funds so you’ll not turn to debt in the future, (d) quickly pay off current debts and avoid future borrowing, (e) consistently and diligently invest in equity vehicles with proven historical track records of substantial annual average growth (like no-load low-expense broad market U.S. stock index mutual funds). You need to employ these practices while you regularly attend church, worship Him (including thanksgiving, praise, and prayer), and study the bible to know how the Lord Jesus Christ wants you to partner with His kingdom doing good works and building up your family. This leads to your betterment, lasting relationships, prosperity, and positively affects everyone around you in a way that pleases the Lord.

The book at the link below provides principles and practical steps that help you use the Power to Get Wealth. By 1992, we had $135,000 of debt and a negative $35,000 net worth. Financial bondage and turmoil led me to seek principles and a process for employing good stewardship. As a result, we became constructively debt-free in 1998, mortgage free January 2004, millionaires in 2012, multi-millionaires shortly thereafter, and retired in 2018 in my mid-fifties from public servant jobs while giving abundantly to fund the gospel of our LORD Jesus Christ. The same power is available to you!
