MoneyWalk 444 The Reward for Honoring Parents

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Being blessed financially is about more than money. It is being in a position of peace and joy with the resources you have and allowing God to expand those resources as you need them and as He desires to bless and reward you. You can only attain this position through righteousness that come through Jesus Christ. When you accept Him as LORD and Savior you are elevated from a lowly unrighteous place to the righteousness of God in Christ!

This process begins with the confession of your mouth and belief in your heart that Jesus is the Messiah through whom righteousness is imputed to those who believe. This imputation sanctifies you in God’s eyes and eliminates the eternal judgment that you previously chose by your action or inaction of failing to acknowledge Him as your LORD and Savior. You now actively choose Him because the only One who knew no sin, who was crucified, and who rose again from the dead will raise you up from the dead and present you blameless at the Judgment. Once you believe in and confess Him as LORD, His shed blood eliminates your sins, so the Father can only see the righteousness of Christ in you.

This position of righteous creates that new man in you that longs to live differently than he has in the past. You are put on a path to progressive maturity where the goal is Christ-likeness in every aspect of your life. Over time, others begin to see positive changes in your life that resulted from your belief in and relationship with Christ.

One notable area of change is usually in how you honor your father and mother. Some don’t believe they’ve had much of an issue with this area of life. However, if you’ve ever sinned, disobeyed your parents, been caught doing something that’s wrong, or simply not living in relationship with Jesus Christ you have dishonored your mother and father.

Most don’t want to look at the situation in this manner, however our failure to act in righteousness at any point along our life is dishonoring to our parents and continuing in that pattern is often the difference between living in peace & joy with great reward versus having lots of money & things but no peace & joy. Since you cannot on your own ever fully honor your parents like you should, the blood of Jesus covers your sin in this arena as well as all other sin and the Holy Spirit guides you to a maturity that helps you live better and do things necessary on earth to better honor your parents.

The following things can help you more greatly honor them:

1. Accept Jesus as Lord & Savior.

2. Be led by the Holy Spirit to live morally in every area of life.

3. Fellowship with believers who also desire to live morally and whose action line up with that.

4. When you’re a child or teen, obey your parents and help around the house doing chores so you learn the necessary humility and work ethic to care for your responsibilities once you become an adult.

5. When you’re an adult, work diligently to care for yourself and your immediate family, so they don’t have additional burdens to shoulder.

6. Manage your income in a manner that helps you take care of all your responsibilities, give to help others, and save for rainy days.

7. Manage inheritances and other windfalls in a manner that is responsible and helps provide for future needs.

8. Help look after parents when they are older to provide them with needed transportation, medical services, food, shelter, etc.

9. Check on them regularly and talk with them to help keep their minds fresh and active.

10. Help provide and find services that can help them when they face emergencies, serious illness, or catastrophe.

God’s promise to you for honoring your parents is He will bless you immensely and give you abundant life upon this earth. Not to mention, eternal reward will follow believers.

MoneyWalk 443 Having Idols Destroys You

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

An “idol” is an object of worship other than the LORD almighty. Let’s face it, most of us, even the ardently religious, have taken a sneak peek at American Idol to see what type of talent is trying to get on the show and which ones really have been gifted with great sounding voices. Don’t feel like you’ve sinned and must repent for watching the talent show, unless you looked at the show, judges, or contestants in a manner that make them your object(s) of worship. You should repent and re-prioritize your affections and activity schedule if you have placed them above the priority of worshipping the LORD Jesus, to the point that you would forsake personal devotion times with Him, evangelism, and disciple-making. For then, they would truly be an idol that replaces Him and His will for your life.

Any activity or ideology could become idol when placed above the desire for intimacy with Him. The bible instructs you to avoid and/or eliminate such idols from your life. He is not concerned with whether you watch a television program that uses the word “idol.” For your good, He simply does not want you to make anything other than Him your object of worship. He knows you will be hurt when you make idols of money, careers, positions, power, relationships, deeds, animals, statues, and ideologies. He wants us to get many of these things but in the right context and for the right use that they would glorify Him and bless others.

You must constantly be vigilant in making sure your adoration of these things and attention to them has not been elevated above time spent with the Lord and the local Church body. Otherwise, they will push aside your immediate obedience to all He commanded. When this happens, you suffer even if you don’t immediately recognize it or see the effects. Many people dismiss the consequences of idol worship because they don’t show up immediately. Yet, the bible is emphatic about the fact that worshipping idols brings destruction upon you. While that destruction may not be seen or felt immediately and it’s possible it may not be felt while you live upon the earth, the bible assures you that God will bring everlasting judgment and punishment against un-repented idolatry.

You do not want to be judged in eternity for failure to make the Lord, His ways, and His work your utmost priority because then punishment is forever. I would much rather be shown the error of my ways while on earth, so I can turn from them and be all I was created to be in Christ Jesus, making sure that my focus always stays upon Him. I feel the same way when it comes to money and the financial area of my life. Each of us are going to have some of it and some people will have more than others. While we can all prosper greatly to fulfill God’s plan for our lives in conjunction with the building of His kingdom in the hearts of men, you should never put so much of a focus on money or getting more of it that you make it an idol.

It is useful for providing for needs and taking care of many areas in your life, however your primary aim should always be to develop a deeper relationship with the LORD. From this desire, the Holy Spirit will empower you to adhere to biblical principles that free you from spiritual and financial bondage and bring abundant blessing and reward into your life.

MoneyWalk 442 Maintaining Holy Rest Prospers You

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

The command to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy is the LORD’s guidance to help us overcome enemies of intimacy with Him and of fruitfulness, so we can mature spiritually and truly be blessed and rewarded on earth including in the financial arena of our lives. He does not want you to be lazy or over-worked, rather hard-working with reasonable periods of rest for your mind and hands, so you will have consistent fruitful and creative cycles in your life. Therefore, He exhorts you to labor using your mind and hands to produce that which is good, so you and others may be blessed by your harvest.

He recognizes the command to labor could develop in you a tendency to always be at work believing your worth is based on what you do, the work title you obtain, or how much you earn in this life. Thus, He also exhorts you to remember the Sabbath, which means to spend suitable time worshipping Him and resting instead of engaging in the works to which you are employed the remainder of the week.

This focuses you on rest from normal labors where you take time to develop a more intimate relationship with Him and on helping you understanding His will better, so during the remainder of the week you are not spending time doing things that are not His priority for your life. Most people think that continual busyness working at their trade is the key to success and it has moved society away from spending time with the Lord and resting in His presence. We tend to think that if we start a business it must be open seven days a week or else it will fail, and we think that there are so many things to do at home that we must spend every evening and the entire weekend trying to complete our “To Do List.”

Yet, biblical principles let us know that we will be successful working less than seven days per week and that we will be refreshed and have correct and renewed vision and energy when we take appropriate time each week to worship the Lord and rest our bodies and minds. Failure to maintain godly priorities in what you do is an enemy of productivity because it does not profit you to gain the world yet lose your soul!

There’s an entrepreneur who has led a fast food restaurant chain for four decades and never opens his stores on Sundays (not even in shopping malls) so his family and business can honor the LORD, rest, and renew their minds, spend time with family, and hopefully choose to fellowship with other believers in order to mature/ Despite advice that he could not prosper unless his stores were open every day to compete against other fast food chains, he became a multi-billionaire and his business has allowed many others to become multi-millionaires, take great care of other people, and do many good works around the world. His family operates over 1700 stores and 80,000 employees and have by far the lowest rate of employee attrition (people leaving his employ) than any other fast food chain in the world.

There are many more real-life stories of businesses and individuals who have experienced great success while keeping the Sabbath. The Sabbath principle benefits you to the same degree no matter whether you’re an entrepreneur or employee. This weekly time of rest with the Lord will help:

1. Invigorate you mentally and physically

2. Give you renewed focus

3. Produce as much mental and physical health as is possible for you

4. Re-energize you to engage in required activities in the most productive manner

5. Produce good family, friend, and workplace relationships

6. Engage you in priorities that please the Lord and help you do good deeds that benefit you and other people.

Constant busyness places and keeps you in bondage whereas observing the Sabbath through weekly rest from your labors and times of intimacy with the LORD eliminates bondage by providing the mechanism for freedom you need to truly be fulfilled and prosperous in this life and prepared for eternity.

MoneyWalk 441 Do Not Mis-Use The LORD’s Name

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Many financial problems people experience result from their failure to honor God’s name. As a result, they’re having problems in the housing sector, the banking sector, the investment sector, the personal finance sector, the family unit, and other areas of life. Many people believe they can do anything they want, fail to uphold moral standards, and choose to believe something other than what the Creator said is truth. Inevitably, they invite hardship and trouble into their lives. When you accept financial advice without measuring it by the Word of God you will misuse His name and bring negative consequences into your life.

Honoring God’s name requires living to please Him and dying to your will. When you believe and live in a way opposite His principles, you mis-use His name by communicating to other people that accepting Christ does not change a person for the better, nor produces a rewarding life. This is why you should be careful to reverence His name by learning and applying biblical principles in the financial realm and otherwise. You will reap enormous blessings and rewards as a result and will find that hard times for others are simply opportunities for you to serve and produce to an even greater degree.

By living out biblical principles by the power of the Holy Spirit, you will find immunity from economic calamity because you are securely abiding under the shadow of the Most High God and the greatness of His name. You won’t be swayed from doing right nor succumb to temptation because He helps you understand what is practical for you to invest time, energies, and money into. You will take worthwhile and wise risks throughout your life and, in very short order after you start, you will begin to reap the blessings and rewards that come to those who live Christ-like.

You cannot go wrong:

I. Working diligently at a moral trade

II. Serving in your local church and otherwise in a capacity that helps spread the gospel

III. Budgeting (planning by setting goals acceptable to God)

IV. Living within your means

V. Tithing and offering

VI. Eliminating debt

VII. Eliminating cosigning

VIII. Saving

IX. Investing

X. Diversifying your assets

XI. Teaching others to do the same when opportunities arise

These practical actions are spoken of in God’s word in numerous instances and form the foundation for how to build a financial future that is strong and solid. They help mature you to use wisdom so you’re not influenced to make stupid choices as some people encourage you to do, like pursuing get-rich-quick schemes or taking loans to fund desires. You will not be moved by emotion when making financial decisions, rather you’ll be moved by the Holy Spirit as He enlightens your understanding and use of practical information and tools. In this way, you will rightly use the name of the Lord and the results of your lifestyle will lead other people to Christ instead of repelling them by poor financial habits & conditions.

MoneyWalk 440 Do Not Make Money Your God

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Four of the Ten Commandments are directly related to our vertical responsibility to God. It is very important for our peace, health, and well-being throughout life that we allow the Holy Spirit to mold us into people who adhere to these commands. We should be encouraged to apply these commands in the financial arena of our lives as well as other arenas. When we don’t allow our lives to follow this path we receive the earthly and eternal consequences of the other path we have chosen. The first of these commands is to have no other God.

This should be really easy because there really is no other God than the LORD God Almighty. He is your Creator, maker of heaven and earth, who exists before and after time as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The bible explains that our Triune God is one God and beside Him there is no other. In His perfect counsel, He chose to cloth the Son in flesh to live upon the earth as a man named Jesus Christ who put down His divine glory and power. He was sinless in all He did on earth. He is our example of how we can hear and obey the LORD’s instruction at all cost.

He was crucified with His blood poured out as the only sacrifice that allows every human a pathway for redemption that will remove us from the sinful path we have chosen that leads to eternal destruction. He was resurrected by the Father as the firstborn of many brother/sisters as a guarantee that all who believe Him to be Savior and Lord will receive the same resurrection from the dead and eternal life.

There is no other name in Heaven given among men whereby we can be saved. The principle of having no other God should emanate throughout our lives even into the financial arena. You put nothing in the place of God when you recognize He owns everything, even all of the money and resources that come into your hands at any point in your life. In fact, He owns you and has the right to direct your steps: to tell you the principles He wants you to live by and the methods He wants you to use to manage the resources He bestows upon you. Thank God He instructs and guides you for your good. You will be better off on earth and in eternity when you follow His principles and obey methods He specifically directs you to use.

You make nothing else a god when you read the bible to find what the LORD has to say about how you live and manage finances, and when you pray asking Him to help you understand what His Word directs you to do, and when you obey His instructions and make plans to solidify this way of living. Money cannot become your god when you utilize the following principles to do His will and direct your steps:

1. Work as unto the Lord in your career path and Church ministry, doing good inside and outside the Church walls.

2. Refuse to pursue get-rich-quick and get-more-money-at-all-cost schemes.

3. Regularly tithe and give a free-will offering from your income.

4. Regularly give and/or serve to help the poor and oppressed including widows and orphans.

5. Consistently budget your income so you are keenly aware of how much comes in each pay period and how much you are expending each pay period. It is best when you do this for six months to one year to allow you to plan forward to note future financial health and problems you will need to pray about and take action against as soon as possible in order to overcome.

6. Eliminate debt and resist future debt. Repossessions, foreclosures, and bankruptcies occur because people’s future financial condition did not turn out like they expected when they took out the loan.

7. Refuse to cosign for others. Instead, when someone trustworthy is truly in need, give him/her only cash you can afford to give. This helps them the most and is the example of good stewardship needed to turn his/her life around.

8. Diligently save a portion of your income. Gradually increase it to a point where down the road you save at least 10% of your gross income each pay period.

9. After you build a reasonable emergency fund, invest additional savings into assets that have the best history of investment growth / return over 10 to 20-year periods. No load low expense stock index mutual funds from reputable financial institutions (Vanguard, Fidelity, TIAA-CREF, etc.) should be the core holding for the vast majority of long-term investors because they give you equity ownership in businesses and provide a high level of investment growth throughout the years without the risk of losing anything close to the value of your holdings because of the great diversity within the fund thru ownership of hundred and sometimes thousands of different types of businesses.

10. Always believe God has His best in mind for you and that He will bless you regardless of any obstacle that confronts you, in order to help you carry out His will for your life on earth. This mindset can help you move into an entrepreneurial endeavor that could really blows your socks off with regard to the income and assets it produces and the blessing / reward it allows you to receive and use to bless your household and other people.

Living in this way guarantees money cannot be your god because the LORD’s will is always the main priority for how you live, what you envision for your future, and every action you take in every area of your life. This shows you truly love the LORD with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.

MoneyWalk 439b Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

A question you must ask yourself is am I doing what I should be with the income and resources I have to ensure I am able to bear much fruit in accordance with God’s will? This should lead you to begin or continue to manage your finances in such a way that you: (a) budget income and expenses; (b) eliminate debt and refuse to enter new debt situations; (c) refuse to co-sign on debts; (d) save and ultimately invest a reasonable portion of your income; and (e) treat other people in the manner you want to be treated if you were in their shoes.

Let the police, prosecutors, and courts exact justice and needed sentences upon criminals and those who flaunt the law. But as for you, refuse to call anyone wrong before you are certain they have committed an illegal or immoral act. You might not have the whole picture and thus might falsely accuse someone who is innocent. Even when people have done wrong, you show mercy and believe that they are still worthy to be saved and can change their ways just like you want others to show mercy to you when you’ve done wrong.

We are created and called by God to be helpers one of another and only to bring justice upon people when we have such trust and authority bestowed upon us by Him (God thru parents and governments, churches thru elders, businesses owners thru managers, we the people thru elected government leaders, and government thru the justice system). Endeavoring to love and refusing to judge anyone before the proper time requires understanding spiritual authority, which helps you:

1. Live in an intimate & committed relationship with Jesus Christ.

2. Fellowship with His saints (those who have confessed Him as Lord and Savior) in a local bible believing Church.

3. Commit to fund the gospel work of the local Church via tithes and offerings so together you can spread the gospel and provide practical help in your community and around the world, while leading many to Jesus Christ.

4. Focus more on putting your hands to the ministry work plow, which shows that your faith has action behind it and thus is not dead. This is done not only in the Church but in your home, neighborhood, and employment.

5. Gain greater ability to directly help some who are truly in need, even while helping lazy or deceitful freeloaders understand what the LORD entrusts to you is for the needy and not the greedy.

Never be ashamed of the greater income, possessions, and influence He allows you to get when you have sought to do His will of God and have not greedily grafted after gain, power, position, and fame and/or torn and pulled others down to get it. Be more than willing to brag on Him while continuing to: (1) learn more about biblical principles, (2) adhere to them, and (3) use His supernatural power within you to labor to meet the goals and produce the results mentioned above.

Whether you are a business owner, executive, politician, manager, or employee refuse to think more highly of yourself than you do of other people. Always refuse to oppress people, do not work them like slaves, and pay them fair wages based on godly standards, because it is in your power to do so and it ultimately blesses you as much as them and their immediate family. When sacrifices need to be made you should make deep and sometimes greater sacrifices than you ask of those under your authority. These are ways in which you love your neighbor as yourself and thus bring God-pleasing fruitfulness and reward into your life and ministry.

MoneyWalk 439a Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Many people have been told they cannot help anyone else until they are self-sufficient. This man-made belief is contrary to biblical truth. Things you and others think and say that have no foundation in the bible are myths that when lived out will ruin your life on earth and possibly throughout eternity. The bible is the sole authority on truth and you should live according to its precepts in order to fulfill your purpose and prosper. It shows the truth that you can be of great help to others at every stage of life and can help in many ways no matter your current in-come and asset levels.

The LORD’s plan is for you to love Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength because He first loves you then His love is shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Spirit to truly love your neighbors. Such love does not mean you are obliged to do anything in particular anyone asks you. To understand the actions and giving that really help people, you need to study scripture to find out the types of things the LORD did for people and instructed His disciples to do and imitate these actions when in life’s marketplace you come upon true needs. Ask Him daily what He wants you to do, listen intently for direction, and obey His instruction.

The process is started within you by:

1. Being respectful, kind, and cordial to everyone around you, making sure you are not a respecter of persons based on people’s position or power in the workplace, politics, society, etc.

2. Having an attitude of heart that desires and seeks opportunities that connect people with the LORD, recognizing they need His loving guidance, correction, and blessing just like you do.

3. Being responsible to live according to biblical principles so you are personally focused on doing His will as an example to your family, neighbors, co-workers, and others.

How you handle the financial part of your life plays a great role in your ability to accomplish the above goals to the greatest degree possible. He who has the most money and toys does not win the game, being rich toward yourself and not Him and the Kingdom of Heaven causes you to be dethroned from sitting with Him in heavenly places and relegates you to the garbage bin of eternity. Those whose lives are hidden in Christ have heavenly treasures at their disposal now and throughout eternity. He has everything you will ever need and nothing is impossible for Him and therefore for you because He forever lives in you.

He never judges you on the basis of what you do with what you do not have. He is invested in inspiring you to be intimate with Him and flow from this to do the most good for others that you can with what you do have in order to lead them to the Kingdom of Heaven. This requires employing biblically-based good stewardship of your giftings, abilities, income-earning capacity, money, resources, and relationships. This to the fullest extent helps you love and serve your neighbor in the most beneficial way.

MoneyWalk 438 Love Almighty God Above All

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

In order to be truly a good steward over the money and resources God has provided you must get this principle right. Don’t get me wrong, you will have access to some level of money and manage money in some way regardless of whether you love God with all your heart, however you will not reap the eternal and earthly rewards that you receive when you properly manage money and resources via relationship with Jesus Christ according to the directions He has provided in the bible.

Through the crucifixion, shedding of blood, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ God made a way for all who confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to inherit not only a personal loving relationship with Him now, but also a heavenly home when we leave this place called Earth. Other people will at times try to convince you that all paths lead to Rome. In other words, they will say there are other roads to God and Heaven and some will even say there is no God. But God’s word contained in the bible for our good does not conform to these man-made ideologies and exposes them as lies that harm people. Instead of leading people into a loving relationship with a loving personable God, these ideologies lead them away from pursuing God and thus away from the bliss that would be had in eternity with Him. Make no bones about it, He made a way that each of us can select, but we individually must choose eternal bliss or eternal damnation. He will not make the choice for you.

You will do a number of good things on earth before you choose a relationship with Him, but these things have no eternal value because only what you do for Christ will last. People on earth may appreciate the good you do; however, you cannot earn salvation unto blissful eternity because your good works can never be enough to overcome your sins and faulty character. Salvation can only be had by faith accepting Christ and His robe of righteousness, which alone makes you acceptable to Father. Your choice to do this is what aims you to the place of your eternal future. I hope you forsake the humanistic lies and accept the truth about Jesus Christ contained in the bible as the only roadmap to a heavenly eternity.

This love for almighty God with all your heart should lead you in the management of money in the sense that when you learn what God says you should do to be a good steward you will follow that path. For example, when you learn that the bible says a wise man builds treasures but a foolish man spends everything he gets, this should lead you to budget your expenses based on your income knowing that you should plan and act throughout your life in a manner that lives off far less than your income and employs a continuous process of saving and investing a good portion of your income (10%, 15%, etc.).

Each of the money management methods that will truly prosper you while on Earth and throughout eternity are based on principles in the bible: working, tithing, offering, giving, forsaking and eliminating debt, refusing to co-sign, saving, investing, and diversifying assets. In order to dig out these nuggets of truth so they can be a blessing to your life, you simply must listen to people who teach biblical truth and educate yourself through reading scripture, research, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. The prosperity of many people is built on sand because their management does not conform to scriptural standards. They’ve caused financial harm to their families and others as a result. Build your life on the Rock Jesus Christ and your prosperity now and in eternity will be built on the solid foundation that will not fail you because He has promised those who choose Him that He will never leave you nor forsake you.

MoneyWalk 437 Haste Makes Waste

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

In 2009 numerous people said they wanted to start flipping or rent real estate. They believed it was the right time to get into the game because housing values in most parts of the United States had been reduced up to 40% off their 2006 record high levels. They heard that others were doing this very thing and were able to get foreclosed homes at even lower prices. Some heard banks were selling many foreclosed houses for as little as one dollar. It was true some banks reduced prices to get out from under foreclosed houses that cost them a great deal of money to sit on because they would have to maintain the properties and pay taxes while trying to wait for many years for the market to come back up in speculation that they could then sell to someone at much higher prices. However, it was an exaggeration that they were basically giving away very sound houses for next to nothing.

Even with the much lower housing prices many people paid more than their income and assets could handle. They also often had to make tens of thousands of dollars in cosmetic improvements and sometimes more in structural repairs. They filled their lives up with loans and many raided the little bit they had in retirement accounts to get fixer-uppers. They lost lots of money and owed huge sums when they did not have enough money to make needed repairs and thus could not sell the homes or rent them. Many were not good landlords and could not keep trustworthy renters in the places or demand enough rent even on fixed up places to cover the mortgages on the properties. They also did not have enough income or assets to maintain the properties and pay mortgages for many months or years when they were unable to flip or rent them. They needed a huge amount of cash saved in order to make these deals work. Many who had no understanding of how such investment works and/or did not have the necessary skill fell into foreclosure and/or bankruptcy just like many of those from whom the houses were previously taken.

This story was told from the standpoint of flipping and rental real estate investments but relates to other types of investment for which one needs to obtain a deeper knowledge base and understanding of its operation and how to profit before wading in. There are some people uniquely skilled with a calling to invest in this type of venture. However, there are also some people who are not skilled and called to flipping, being a landlord, investing in commodities and futures, etc. and should not engage them until such time as they sit down with gifted people who have been profitable in these areas and truly understand how to become profitable themselves. In the meantime, they should work to become totally debt-free and save money well beyond their three to six-month emergency fund so that when the day comes they can with wisdom wade into investments that have a much higher possibility for growth. They also should consistently be investing at least 10% of gross monthly income (and make sure they get all 401k employer match money) with the bulk of it in a diversified portfolio of total U.S. market no load low expense stock index mutual funds and a pinch of it in U.S. no load low expense bond index funds.

If you have seriously prayed about an investment or business venture and feel that God has directed you to make such an investment, by all means you should at some point do it. Yet, you should not do it on a spur of the moment, throwing all understanding and wisdom to the wind hoping to get rich quick. You should research the methods and processes that successful people have utilized. This will help you determine:

1. The position you need to be in

2. The plan you need to craft

3. The actions you need to take, and

4. The time you are likely to have to wait before it becomes profitable for you.

During this time, you should be utilizing budgeting which is a working, giving, saving, and spending plan that helps you put yourself in position to invest a substantial amount of money in the venture. If you’re in really bad financial condition, it may take you a couple of years to save the money necessary to invest but you’ll be better prepared and better off in the long run having made such preparations. Proverbs 27:12 says, “A prudent man sees danger and sidesteps it but the simple-minded walk right into it and suffer.” So, don’t be hasty to be rich. Instead:

A. Believe that you will prosper

B. Research the venture through which you want to prosper

C. Write a plan identifying your macro vision of the venture that details the methods you’ll use

D. Take action to achieve the desired results, and

E. Have patience while you reach each step on the ladder to the prosperous future that awaits you.

MoneyWalk 436 Patience And Sound Judgment Produce Rewards

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

It seems like it would be great if we could get all the things we want instantly. However, hastening to fulfill desires digs a ditch of future problems that is not easy to get out of. That is why the scripture shows when you love money or hasten to be rich you will stab yourself with many sorrows. You bring pain upon yourself that you wouldn’t have otherwise had to face and become spiritually bankrupt and forsake eternity with a loving God. Many also experience earthly poverty due to constant get-rich-quick-schemes. The rewards the LORD has for you requires good planning that incorporates patience and sound judgment based upon principles found in the bible as guided by the Holy Spirit.

Having patience doesn’t by any means suggest that you will never have many of the things you desire. However, scripture points out a principled process create opportunities for things truly desirable to be obtained because first and foremost you will give your time, attention, and whole life to your Father God through an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Then, you will seek to do His will by serving His causes via engaging evangelization of the unsaved and disciple-making of the saved: till we all come to the knowledge of the Son of God and are knit in unity by His will.

Your Father also desires that you use sound judgment by learning His ways through worshipping Him via reading / studying scripture, praising, and praying. This will create greater personal knowledge from which understanding will develop and from which wise actions will flow. Sound judgment is inevitable when you fill yourself with the Word of God and spend intimate time with Him. Of course, this increases throughout your life as your intensity in these arenas increase.

A result of the combination of these characteristics of patience and sound judgment in your lifestyle will be contentment in the place you are now in with a recognition that God is working out future plateaus for you that are exceedingly and abundantly above what you can currently think or ask. You will recognize that if nothing more ever happened for you materially on earth you would still love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and would love all your neighbors (fellow human beings) as yourself as shown by your continual abundant praise to God and service to men.

Planning is a process that you use after envisioning a future reward you’d like to obtain. It shows that the vision is important to you. After all, thinking about rewards you want does not suddenly make them appear. Planning requires writing what you hope to accomplish through serving others, a description of skills and tools needed, the marketplace of people you will approach to help your vision become reality, the orderly steps you believe are needed, and an estimated timetable for particular accomplishments and attainments along the way.

Ask the LORD to give you vision, desires, and plans to ensure your motives remain spiritually pure during the planning, action, receiving, harvesting, and utilization stages. Then, follow His guidance. He will enable you to use the limited knowledge and ability you have in the best possible manner and add supernatural power to achieve things most important to Him and you. Never allow people’s opinions to turn you from His principles. Then, you can rest assured your life achievement will turn out to be beyond your wildest dream and be more eternally and earthly fulfilling than anything else you could ever experience.
