MoneyWalk 373 Watch Out

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Don’t allow yourself to become a victim of predatory financial schemes, conmen, and those who perpetrate such wicked acts. Rather, be a conqueror who uses godly wisdom to walk in victory by refusing loans and get-rich quick scenarios. Focus your brain power and money management energies on being debt-free in a responsible way as quickly as possible. Refuse to engage schemes where people tempt you to pursue a return higher than the stock market usually and consistently provides.

Many people are enticed by nice, friendly, well-dressed, and well-spoken conmen. Some are entrapped by people who make them feel stupid about returns they supposedly didn’t get in the past because of their fear of investing. Some play mind games with senior citizens by making them fearful of supposed things to come that they’ll want money to take care of. They work to push you to submit to the temptation of greed or fear and belief that somehow the conman can deliver the jackpot you need or always wanted, even during a time in life where that really should not be the most important thing to focus on.

You’ll be tempted by conmen and wealth-killing schemes when you don’t:

* Apply biblical principles in your life and decision making.

* Refuse to be pulled in by promises of huge short-term returns on investments.

* Refuse high-interest loans.

* Budget and consult your cash flow and asset picture to know exactly what amount of investment you can afford and the timing at which you could make it.

* Refuse to love your home, money, and material things more than the Lord’s call on your life and His plan and purpose(s) for entrusting you with money and wealth.

When you’re ignorant of satan’s tactics you’ll fall prey to him and the hurt they cause. Search the bible to identify these tactics and ask the Holy Spirit to help you identify and avoid them. Predatory lending is often a tool that succumbs to at least one of his tactics. Lenders who design these schemes get you hooked on applying for loans that charge very high interest rates and fees. They may not be illegal, but they often ethically defraud others by providing loans that applicants realistically can’t pay on their monthly income given their irresponsible money management habits. Some are not interested in your ability to make the monthly payments based on your income and debt picture, rather they intend to put you in a position where you feel like you must continue taking out predatory loans to cover expenses or where they can repossess your home, car, or other valuable items and then sell them to other people to whom they can do the same thing. Thus, profiting from people’s misery as long as they can while putting the unwitting borrowers in even poorer financial situation than when they first borrowed money.

The Bible says the Lord empowers His people to refuse lust and the debt-ridden lifestyle that accompanies it. The borrower truly is a slave to the lender. You should aim your stewardship at owing others nothing but love. You do best to seek Him in thanksgiving, praise, worship, prayer, regular bible reading, and consistent regular attendance at Church with other believers so you can be introduced to principles and activities that bless you and help fortify you to avoid beliefs and actions that bring negative consequences upon your life spiritually, naturally, eternally, and on earth.

The book at the link below provides principles and practical steps that help you use the Power to Get Wealth. By 1992, we had $135,000 of debt and negative $35,000 net worth. Financial bondage and turmoil led me to seek principles and a process for employing good stewardship. As a result, we became constructively debt-free in 1998, mortgage free January 2004, millionaires in 2012, multi-millionaires shortly thereafter, and retired in 2018 in my mid-fifties from public servant jobs while giving abundantly to fund the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. The same power is available to you!
