MoneyWalk 374 Build On A Firm Foundation

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

Those who are truly wealthy in the Lord’s eyes give abundantly to spread the gospel throughout the earth. In order to do so, they consistently keep monthly expenses well below monthly take home pay and also invest reasonable discretionary cash flow over long periods of time, in things that represent equity participation (i.e., businesses or real estate via ownership or stock holdings) in order to earn greatly increased value and growth over the years. They understand wealth won’t be built by those that have a “spend, spend, spend” mentality nor by those who regularly borrow money in order to get the many depreciating assets they continually desire (clothes, jewelry, cars, houses, etc.). First and foremost, their true wealth is intimacy with Jesus Christ. This leads their focus away from constant spending to get unnecessary things to impress themselves and the world around them. The love of the Lord reigns in their hearts encouraging the mindset give first, save next, and spend last.

They’d much rather give abundantly to see people introduced to Christ and become believers and disciples than they would to receive the myriad of material things made to tickle people’s fancies and impress others. This mindset and pattern of living produces an earthly situation for them (via increased income earning opportunities and investment growth) whereby they’re able to have many fine and increasingly expensive things throughout their lives, because of the deferred gratification they displayed as a normal part of their Christ-like behavior. They’re able to enjoy things because they’re obtained without debt and thus worldly economic forces, depressions, and recessions can’t snatch them out of their hands via repossession and foreclosure. Their obedience to Him along with a simple bible-based financial plan allows them to grow sizeable savings and investment to get them through short financially turbulent periods that on average occur once each decade or so.

They’re not hooked on material things and will give away or sell them if they thinks continued ownership or maintenance would negatively affect their spiritual growth or financial situation. They’ll make whatever cutbacks are necessary if monthly income decreases or such expenses would hinder continual and abundant giving and investing. Planning / budgeting, establishing an emergency fund, eliminating debts, long-term investing, and diversifying investments over time help this process along and will bless your life in innumerable ways!

The book at the link below provides principles and practical steps that help you use the Power to Get Wealth. By 1992, we had $135,000 of debt and negative $35,000 net worth. Financial bondage and turmoil led me to seek principles and a process for employing good stewardship. As a result, we became constructively debt-free in 1998, mortgage free January 2004, millionaires in 2012, multi-millionaires shortly thereafter, and retired in 2018 in my mid-fifties from public servant jobs while giving abundantly to fund the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. The same power is available to you!
