The LORD rewards with success and promotion those who have intimate relationship with Him. They seek to do His will in every area of life and their lives are governed by His standards, instruction, and biblical principles. You will increase in wisdom and stature in His sight and often among men though you may suffer persecution and ridicule from time to time because of the Christian way of managing life situations and circumstances that is peculiar to unbelievers.
Promotions from God are attained through allegiance to Him and humility and brokenness to His will. In addition to other spiritual disciplines like as daily prayer, bible study, and regular fellowship with the Church this often shows up as a lifestyle that focuses on knowing the state of your income versus expenses, refusing to enslave yourself in debt, living beneath your income, faithfully saving money, and abundantly supporting ministry. Together these disciplines grant you greater resources, job opportunities, ministry roles, respect, and authority over satanic opposition and the world system.
Most people refuse to adhere to such principles. Thus, their promotions often end up being a curse to them naturally and eternally because they lose sight of the LORD as the source of all good things in their lives and of wanting to fulfill His purpose for their lives. On the inside they can never really be satisfied or content nor have peace and joy, though on the outside they can often look as though they are. Even though some think they will be able to wow the LORD with all the successes they had on earth, if they continue on this unrepentant path, they’ll ultimately hear the words, “depart from me worker of iniquity, I never knew you.” So by all means pursue promotion God’s way. Only then will you truly prosper.
