Some people have been blessed with far more than others through honest and God-pleasing endeavors, but there are some that use ungodly methods to obtain riches through employee oppression, sales deceit, false advertising, murder for insurance payouts, prostitution, deserting spouse and children for corporate prestige, moral compromise in the political arena, and forsaking regular fellowship with God to spend more time accumulating riches. These actions destroy lives because the pursuit of riches with an ungodly motive produces pride, a haughty spirit, and many sorrows.
Those that follow this pathway often avoid and abandon accountable godly relationships, hang with people that have like attitudes, and consider others lower class sloths because they aren't rich or pursuing riches in the same way they are. They desire honor and accept titles that really don't belong to them, won't give the glory to God that others ascribe to them, and don’t recognize that God’s favor played the major role and their work a minor role in the riches bestowed on them.
Stay humble in the sight of men and let God elevate your financial status on the basis of His promise that He will bring great blessing upon your life when you seek Him first, His kingdom and righteousness. Do not get caught in satan’s trap of thinking high income and net worth equate to right standing with God. Recognize that God’s plan for you and His way of doing things is so much better because He bestows earthly and eternal wealth on each person who seeks Him first. He teaches you, through intimacy developed in relationship with Him and obedience to His instruction, how to live in accordance with biblical financial principles so His best continually comes to pass in your life.
